To clean the curtain, you should first take it off from the curtain rod. All you need to do is to take off the rings on the curtain. You can choose to wash the curtain either by machine or hand. First of all you can put the shower curtain to the washing machine together with three or four towels. The towel is responsible to avoid over spinning motion to the curtain which will cause the curtain running out of shape. For larger size shower curtain like extra long shower curtain, you can insert more towels, said about five or six. Somehow other than protecting the curtain to become wrinkled, the towel is also responsible to take away the soap scum on the curtain. It serves as cool scrubber that is able to remove the minor particles and pollutants on the curtain.
The following thing you need to do is to add detergent to the washing machine. Please use the detergent that comes with color protection. This is to avoid your shower curtain get faded after washing. For white color shower curtain, you can choose to add some bleach. The bleach will make the white shower curtain looks more shining and clean.
You can operate the normal washing speed. At this moment the detergent and bleach will exert its effect. The whole process might not take more than 15 minutes. The curtain will be running out of shape if washing it too long time. Rinse the curtain with cold water after you taking it out from the machine. Make sure the curtain is free from soaps and detergent, rinse thoroughly.
The last thing you should do is to get the curtain dry. You don’t need to hang them outside. All you need to do is just putting it back to the shower curtain rod and turn on the bathroom fan. The curtain will get drying automatically after a while.
